Busy year ahead for Campus Reimagined!

With the start of a new term and a new academic year less than three weeks away, the Campus Reimagined team is excited for the challenge ahead!
Campus Reimagined Live
Once again, there will be a Campus Reimagined Live event on campus in 2026, with dates and details being finalised.
Last year’s event attracted 4,000 people, and you can expect the same fun and engaging approach as we continue to put students and staff at the centre of developing our long-term vision for campus.

Masterplan framework
We announced in March that the consultation to develop a masterplan framework will be led by Prior + Partners. This work will be delivered in July 2026, with consultation and engagement taking place over the next academic year.
This framework will provide a strategic basis for the future development of campus. Acting as a blueprint, it will lay out principles and guidelines, setting the stage for more detailed planning and development activities.
Mini projects
The mini projects voted for by students and staff are making great progress:
- Running & Exercise Trail: England Athletics and Hyde Park Harriers are helping to shape a track that will take in the architectural gems and other highlights of campus – for more details, on this project check out the news story on the Campus Reimagined website.
- Botanical Garden: Landscape architect drawing up plans with three options for sites in mind.
- Eating Areas: Working group agreed that spaces should be open to all and in accessible locations. Areas being scoped but a student hub being developed along the Red Route will be one of these.
- Outdoor Green Trail: A PhD student has been employed to look at how we can improve and extend existing trails.
- Covered Seating and Big Screen projects: We’re working with a landscape architect to identify the best areas for covered seating. Additional seating is being explored as part of the Botanic Garden. Locations for the Big Screen are being scoped out and the preferred location is currently somewhere around the main University Precinct.
